Last Friday, May 30th, Advice participated in the 10th National Meeting of the Association of Labor Inspectors of Uruguay (AITU), held at the NH Columbia Hotel, as part of the commemoration of 110 years of Labor Inspection in Uruguay.
The activity was organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in conjunction with the Ibero-American Confederation of Labor Inspectors (CIIT), and brought together specialists, authorities, and representatives from the academic and professional fields to reflect on the current and future challenges of work and labor regulation.
In that context, Federico Muttoni – Director of Advice – and Mauricio Milano – Responsible Editor of the Advice Labor Monitor – presented on how artificial intelligence is already impacting employment in Uruguay and what challenges this new scenario poses for labor inspection.

During their presentation, they addressed key questions that invite a rethinking of traditional frameworks: Who takes care of the new work? What happens when there is no office, no boss, no country? How do you inspect an algorithm? Through data, real cases, and warning signs, they provided concrete elements to the debate.
But, above all, they made it clear that today there are more questions than answers. Because the change is just beginning, and the dialogue between the State and the world of work is more necessary than ever.
From Advice, we thank the Association of Labor Inspectors of Uruguay for the invitation and for the continuity of this space for reflection.
